Martinis and Makeovers
Let the capable hands of Boston's top stylists and makeup artists prepare you for your spring fling while sipping on Hpnotiq coctails and shopping at eclusive pop shop boutiques. All the while listening to the grooves laid down by DJ Ms. Thang. This bi-monthly event geared towards women is designed as an afterwork primping party. Get free hairstylings by SHAG salon, free makeovers by Miss Michelle (NYC fashion week) and her crew and a free Hpnotiq drink! What a better way to start your week? Also shop select items from boutiques: Salamagundi (Jamaica Plain) and Flock (South End).
This runs from 7-10 PM and is really fun. Last time my friend and I got Hpnotiq shakers, and I mean what's not to love about free martinis and looking pretty?

The Legend of the Mystery Shop
And now for an educational series on a great and wonderful thing. The mystery shop! How would you like to be paid for shopping at stores you normally shop at , or being treated to a free dinner on a mystery shopping company? I know, it sounds to good to be true but you can stay at hotels for free, eat at fancy dinners for free, go the movies for free and even get a free gym membership all through the powers of mystery shopping. This is the only reason my yelp page "bostonfrugalista.yelp.com" has so many fancy restaurants like K.O. Prime and Market by Jean-Georges. I mean, I can't really afford to spend $200 on a meal for two people, but if you're going to reimburse me and pay me $25 to do a write up count me in! So, for my first mystery shop I chose.....
Goodwin & Associates
http://shopper.mysteryshopperprogram.com/GAHS/Shoppers.nsf
This is the first restaurant mystery shop that I ever did. I've done restaurants like Vinny T's, Tavern on the Water, JP Licks and other random shops.
Pros: Free food! They reimburse you for what you paid. This is a good company to start with.
Cons: They don't pay you a fee! And it takes 90 days to reimburse you.

More movies to make it through the week and more of March
So here are three free movies coming up in March. The first, is a documentary called the Art of the Steal. It's playing tomorrow and it looks pretty interesting. I want to see it, but will be at hanging out getting my free "Harvard Mini Med School" Certificate (for more info http://hms.harvard.edu/public/longwood/) because if I could stand the site of blood without fainting maybe I could be a doctor. Also, tomorrow is a screening of "The Good Guy" with Alexis Bledel and a free screening of Hot Tub Time Machine. For more info on that check out film metro at the Boston page (http://www.filmmetro.com/cities/main/9) to register and print out some passes. I have to say that there has been a dearth of events this Winter but I hope to have something fun for St. Patty's Day this year.
